Julie and Eric had very definite ideas about what they wanted when we set about creating their wedding stationery. The ‘farming’ theme began with the invitations for the day guests showing a pair of green wellies outside the church door! Julie, a keen photographer herself, set about the challenge of taking the photographs that would feature throughout the whole of the stationery theme.

The Order of Service was complete with a photograph of the church on the front cover and the evening invitations featured a picture of the venue. All photographs were given an ‘aged’ appearance which worked well with the cream pearlescent card and navy blue text.

For the seating plan it was decided to name the tables after different makes of tractors. To add to this, Julie took a photograph of the groom during a ‘ploughing’ competition which fitted the theme perfectly. The couple even used tractors for their chosen method of wedding transport!

This was a truly unique wedding that captured the imagination of everyone involved. It was great fun to work on this project and the end result was breathtaking.

As it was a November wedding, Julie had talked in the months leading up to her special day of her wish for snow. As you can see from the stunning photographs taken by Ian France of French Connection Photography, Julie indeed got her wish!

JENNIE GARLICK AND DANIEL WATTON (AUGUST 2010)

Jennie and Dan chose the beautiful Rowton Castle, Shrewsbury for their August wedding. Their invitations featured a classic gold heart design but they were not sure what they wanted for their seating plan design.

Jennie was thinking about using their wedding venue as inspiration but Dan was thinking more along the lines of Paris which was where they had got engaged. After discussing the options it was decided to feature Paris on the seating plan with a line explaining to their guests why this had been chosen. For the table name cards and the guests’ place name cards it was decided to use Rownton Castle as the backdrop with the tables named after places of interest in Paris. The whole thing worked really well together and Jen and Dan were delighted with the final result.

Jennie added a fun element to the day with her sparkly gems on the bottom of her shoes which also doubled up as her ‘something blue’!

“We were so pleased with the stationery that Dawn designed for us. Our table plan was something that me and Dan had no clue about but Dawn was able to show us some creative and fun ideas that reflected our engagement in Paris which was something that we had not thought about. Our table cards were designed to match the wedding breakfast room and were exactly as we imagined them to be. We would like to thank Dawn for everything that she did for us and helping us create a package so stylish but yet fun.”

KIRSTY MCDONALD AND DEAN BROUGHTON (JUNE 2010)

Kirsty and Dean chose the sunny Spanish resort of Puerto de Mazarron for their June wedding.

Their colour scheme was a striking royal blue and they opted for an elegant ‘scroll’ design for their stationery. A simple double sided flat card was produced for the Order of Service listing the names of everyone in the bridal party on the front and their role at the wedding. The same design was carried through to the place cards and table name cards at the reception which again were royal blue printed onto a bright white background.

The problem of having to take the table plan aboard the plan was solved by creating something a little less ‘traditional’. A giant A3 mousemat was produced as this was lightweight and would slip easily into a suitcase without any worries of being damaged during the flight. For this the colours were reversed – the background this time was royal blue with the scroll design in white. In keeping with the Spanish theme, the tables were all named after the ‘Costa’s’ which meant that the top table couldn’t have been anything else other than ‘Costa Fortune!’

NICKY RUSSELL AND ANDY DONNELLAN (MAY 2010)

When Nicky and Andy tied the knot, they chose the beautiful Caverswall Castle near Stoke-on-Trent for their May wedding.

In keeping with such a stunning venue it was decided to use the castle as a backdrop for their table plan. Old English text was used for the tables which were appropriately named after ‘castles’ with Caverswall obviously being the top table. The result was a fabulous piece of artwork that would serve as a lasting memento of a very special day for many years to come.

To add some humour to the day, we created a bespoke guest book showing images of the couple as children on the cover. Nicky complete with her ‘comedy fringe’ (Nicky’s words not ours!) was sure to bring a smile to the faces of her guests!
